Portland Business Journal Book of Lists Celebration

|
For the third year in a row, the Willamette University MBA sponsored the Portland Business Journal's Book of Lists. As part of the "Celebration of Business," the Willamette MBA joined the Business Journal and other sponsors for a special reception during the Portland Trailblazers vs. Milwaukee Bucks game at the Rose Garden.

Willamette MBA Students/Alumni Volunteer for "Meals on Wheels"
|
|
|
Students and alumni of the Willamette University MBA program volunteered for Loaves and Fishes (the "Meals on Wheels People") in the Portland Metro area. The annual "Donate Dinner" campaign raises money for funding meals for homebound senior citizens throughout hte year.

Young Professionals of Vancouver - Scholarship Dinner

The Willamette University MBA program served as a sponsor of the Young Professionals of Vancouver "Reach for the Stars" Scholarship Fundraiser. The first annual event provided scholarships to two deserving students in the Vancouver-metro area, along with mentoring from two outstanding young professionals.

Public Realtions Student Society of America - Detroit, MI

The Willamette University MBA sponsored the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Conference in Detroit, MI from October 24-28, 2008. Activities included a boat cruise on the Detroit River with Presidents from collegiate chapters around the country. Students also participated in a graduate/career fair where they networked with Willamette MBA students and admissions staff.

The Willamette University Portland Center hosted the Young Professionals of Portland's Breakfast of Champions event for October. Debra Ringold, Dean and JELD-WEN Professor of Free Enterprise, lead a discussion entitled "Is New Media Really New?" To celebrate her presentation, Debra was awarded a Wheaties box with her photo.

Willamette MBA Staff/Faculty Run Pints to Pasta Race in Portland

Tina Alexander, Director of the MBA for Professionals, Russell Yost, Director of Marketing and Contributing Assistant Professor, and Paul Dwyer, Assistant Professor of Marketing, completed the "Pints to Pasta" race in Portland, Oregon. The race is considered "Portland's Favorite 10K."

Early Career MBA Compass Week - Third Day
|

|
On the third day of Compass Week, Willamette MBA students traveled to Portland where they met their PACE non-profit clients. Mike Golub, the Senior Advisor to Vulcan Media (Portland Trailblazers, Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders) delivered a keynote address at the end of the day to conclude Compass Week activities. Mike shared his ideas on business, management and developing a strategic career plan.
